Made another small #GodotEngine scene!
- Godot 4.0
- @arnklit's cool "Cliffs & Rocks" pack (link in thread)
- 100k particles (animated using a custom particle shader, but this wasn't strictly necessary)
- That lovely volumetric fog <3
- Lots of video compression, sorry :P
Saw an article on how WFH families are having more kids and, yeah, we've rediscovered the age-old principle that having the ability to provide for your family *and* have adults around to parent makes it easier to raise a child.
We shouldn't stop at the nuclear family, though. We should go all the way back to communal hunter-gatherer village living. Adults do their paid remote work in shifts while others tend to the kids, or do domestic work. Way healthier than how most of us live now.

Guess it's time for my very first post here - some sprites i've been working on for my tiny tile-shifting game.

My Cliff and Rock pack for #godotengine 4.0 is available on itch for $15.
@ludopolitics@dice.camp @lumpley@dice.camp @megueyb@dice.camp Holy hell this is such an amazing connection to have drawn! I'm gonna use playing these games as a way to teach pillars for game design!

This week's #ProjectWeirdLittleGuy #ScreenshotSaturday update is: Spawn clusters! It's nothing fancy, but it really helps make world generation more believable and fun to explore? It's just a kind of subtable in my spawn/loot table system, but with min and max number of spawns per cluster and a radius. I've also added things like a loading bar and a failed attempt at terrain LOD but they don't quite screenshot as well
I know I'm an old lady now because I feel fancy when I get to spend money on good tools like Miro or GitKraken.

Am... am I the only one feeling like there's been way more murdered trans women than usual in the last three weeks or so?
Man I love Valheim but I wish the devs would put absolutely any game design thought at all into any of the systems that aren't straight lifted from other games. There are so many pain points that read as "we didn't think about this beyond using whatever we'd seen elsewhere."
Any time a game is described as "hard core" or "brutal" or "losing is fun" in the marketing and community messaging I feel like it's just code for "there are really obvious shitty pain points in our design and we don't have the skills to fix them."
