How am I only now learning that literally everything that gets posted to bluesky gets fed into image and text AIs?? Like, that's part of the privacy policy?? Jesus Christ.

Ok so this isn't the nightmare scenario it looked like at first glance. Bluesky uses Hive for AI content moderation assistance. Hive also does generative AI. If you are a direct client of Hive then THEIR privacy policy allows them to use your data to train generative AI. Twitter, Tumblr, Cara, and Bluesky all have their own deals with Hive for AI content moderation support which presumably don't include that AI training clause because that clause is not represented in the end user agreements that those services have with their users.

@ash I sensed there must be good reasons to avoid it. My worry is it’ll become ‘the new Twitter’ because easy to understand and use.
