Somehow fedi feels more public than Twitter? and much more so than Tumblr which feels like conversations happening in a teen bedroom.
I feel like Unlisted should also mean that when you view someone's masto profile while not logged in as a follower, that post shouldn't show up? I want to use Unlisted for shitposts and reposting shitposty content. I want a way to post things that are the digital equivalent of showing your phone to the person sitting next to you on the couch, but posting things that are then on my actual profile page makes it feel like a bit much.
What is it about masto/fedi that makes it less feel less appropriate to shitpost on? I'm currently posting on both fedi and cohost and all my shitposts and silliness feels more at home on cohost while my more coherent thoughts end up on fedi. And that's a problem for fedi I think.
