Reported as a casual encounter in a classified location near the border, this object followed an A vessel at close range before diverting course. No communication was attempted.
The A vessel crew felt funny at first, then extremely sad following the object departure.

Coprolite may not be my favourite fossil. But it's a solid number two.
I don't really know what the heck this rusty thing is, but at least it is a bit of fast sci-fi before ending the day.

I forgot about this sketch. I like it a lot, tempted to develop it at some stage.
Ok so "repost with comment" aka "quote retweet" isn't on masto because the main Dev thinks, fairly, that it encourages harrassment and dunking in the way it's implemented on twitter. But the same feature is the very bedrock of tumblr's culture and although there's definitely harrassment and dunking on there, it's not based on the repost with comment feature. I think that's literally down to how it's displayed. On twitter your comment comes first, giving you the power over how what comes next is perceived. It also has a stack limit of two. If you qrt a qrt, the original tweet that was being quoted originally isn't displayed and so you get a breakdown of context which is harmful to meaningful discussion and encourages shittier behaviour. Conversely when you reblog with a comment on Tumblr people see what you reblogged first, and they see the entire chain of content if there's a stack of quote reblogs, all before your contribution to the discussion at the bottom.
Given that I'm connecting to masto and the fediverse from my own one person instance running a microblog.pub rather than Mastodon itself, I think my plan is to build this kind of long stack quote repost feature myself and if other software wants to update to support it, they're welcome to join me.
I already display attachments before text on my site because I want to give art the chance to speak for itself before the commentary attached to it.
